The weather has been so comfortable these last 2 weeks. It's been so nice in fact, that I've been able to turn off the air conditioner and fling open the doors and windows. I hope you had a great summer.
When I think of Autumn, I go straight to Halloween. One of my favorite holidays. Now that I'm an empty nester, I no longer have the [disgusting] pleasure of cleaning out pumpkin guts. Yay!! However, I do like to see the awesome designs others create when they carve pumpkins. Here, I've made a gate-fold card using Pumpkin Stack Lg 1278-228J or from Harvest Pumpkins Set 228. To add a bit of sparkle, Starry Night Glitter G1048 has been added around the pumpkin stack.
When I made this easel card, I was thinking back to when I was a kid walking to school. There was usually a chalk drawn hopscotch on the sidewalk, and a flat rock close by. The Pumpkins 4 Sale 1275-227P & Happy Fall Y’all 1280-227A (Stamp Set 227 - Harvest - Scarecrow) just seemed appropriate for this popsickle stick fence. To add just a touch of Fall sparkle I used Sunny Daze Glitter G1038 & Brown Fizz Embossing Powder EP381.
Copic markers were used to color the main scene. A word of caution - Copics are alcohol based markers and will bleed on porous materials such as wood. When coloring, the pumpkins in particular, I found I had better control if I started coloring in the center and working my way to the edges. Any Copic color that has red in it seems to bleed more than other colors. So, you need to be particularly careful when using reds, oranges, and pinks.
Oh your card is wonderful. It is a great "taking me back in time" card. I loved making that trip and I especially like that fence!!!
